PSY 403/503/703 — Human Factors Psychology / Human-Computer Interaction
This cross-listed undergraduate and graduate course introduces students to major concepts, theories, and methods in human factors psychology and human-computer interaction. Topics include human information processing, usability, user-centered design, interface evaluation, human performance, decision-making, and the design of technologies that support safe and effective interaction.
PSY 713 — Quantitative Statistical Methods
This graduate-level course introduces students to quantitative statistical methods used in psychological and behavioral research. The course emphasizes statistical reasoning, research design, data analysis, interpretation, and reproducible workflows using R.
Students learn to organize, analyze, visualize, and report data using R, with attention to both conceptual understanding and practical application in research contexts.

PSYC 3090 — Introduction to Experimental Psychology / Statistics
Clemson University
This course introduced students to statistical reasoning and quantitative methods in psychology. Topics included descriptive statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, correlation, t-tests, analysis of variance, regression, and interpretation of statistical results.
The course was similar in content to PSY 300 Psychological Statistics at UAH, with an emphasis on helping students understand how statistical tools are used to answer psychological research questions.
PSYC 3100 — Advanced Experimental Psychology / Research Methods
Clemson University
This course focused on research design, experimental methods, measurement, validity, ethics, data collection, and scientific communication in psychology. Students learned how to evaluate psychological research and develop empirical studies grounded in theory and appropriate methodology.
The course was similar in content to PSY 303 Research Methods at UAH, with an emphasis on designing, conducting, interpreting, and communicating psychological research.
PSYC 3340 — Cognitive Psychology
Clemson University
This course introduced students to major theories and empirical findings in cognitive psychology, including attention, perception, memory, working memory, language, problem-solving, reasoning, decision-making, and cognitive control.

Student mentoring
CHAT Lab mentoring emphasizes hands-on research experience across the full research process, including literature review, IRB preparation, experiment design, survey construction in Qualtrics, data collection, statistical analysis, manuscript writing, and conference presentation.
